Severus stared at the glass of water in front of him moodily. He had managed to scrape together the supplies he needed just barely. That had been a reasonably enjoyable process, a lot better than what he usually spent his time doing. Now that the essential task had been done though, he was going to have to head back home.
Oh how he hated the place! The mere thought of returning home made him want to grip the glass so hard it shattered. If only he had the strength, and he wouldn't cut his hands with the broken glass, and wouldn't be charged for breaking the glass in the first place.
Severus could not wait to go to Hogwarts, to join the Wizarding World fully. That was going to have to wait though, first he would have to go back home. No matter what subject his thoughts went to, the knowledge that he would have to go back to Spinners End loomed over him.
He scowled as he reached for the glass and took a sip of water from it. Water was neutral. Sometimes he wished he could be, and he certainly wished his father would be, especially when it came to magic.
